Zen Yipu Zen was born in communist China, grew up in market economy with and some times without Chinese characteristics. He was then educated in all of the above, with a touch of Japanese aesthetics. He is a practising artist when not finishing a Ph.D. thesis on Japanese media content consumption. His artworks are often focused on geographic identities, in forms which often sit on the borderlines between photography (digital or otherwise), multimedia and installation. He lives in Sydney at the moment
