Mayu Kanamori

Mayu Kanamori is a photo journalist, broadcaster and an internationally exhibited contemporary artist. She is the director of the multimedia documentary performance and ABC Radio National feature The Heart of the Journey, which has been commended by United Nations Media Peace Awards in the category of Promotion of Multicultural Issues and the Broome Naidoc Non Indigenous Reconciliation Award. She has exhibited her photographic works including Unseen Faces of Japan, Sugao no Australia and Life and Other Great Things both in Japan and Australia.

Mayu was born and raised in Tokyo, migrated to Australia in 1981 and is currently based in Sydney. She is a contributing photographer at The Australian Financial Review and is a co producer and creator of a Chika, a multimedia art documentary funded by the Australia Council for the Arts New Media Arts Board and supported by ABC Radio National.
