Mami Yamanaka Mami is currently undertaking MA by Research in Fine Art at RMIT University with an Australian Postgraduate Award. She immigrated to Australia in 1995. She is exhibiting her work extensively in an international context. The main focus of her art practice is exploring the concept of her original idiosyncratic drawn motifs by creating patterns from the motif within an installation space to express her own experience of cultural relocation and consequent transcendence of her identity.
