Eugenia Raskopoulos

Eugenia Raskopoulos received her MFA from COFA University of NSW and currently lectures at The University of Western Sydney. Raskopoulos is a visual artist whose work explores the margins of photography and video transforming into an interdisciplinary zone that synthesizes performance, installation and painting in the studio.

Her work investigates ideas of the 'other ' focusing on history, language, translation, writing/drawing and abstract space. Currently the work is influenced by Japanese history and art. Being of European background Raskopoulos is interested in the period when Zen & Zen art was introduced into Europe and the influence it had on art and culture.

Raskopoulos is the recipient of several grants from The Australia Council (one grant was for travel and research in Japan). Raskopoulos' work has been exhibited nationally and internationally . Eugenia Raskopoulos' work is represented in The National Art Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery of Queensland and Art Gallery of Western Australia. Eugenia Raskopoulos is represented by Arc One at Span in Melbourne.
